Gillian began her career at 21 as a professional dancer and actor. She toured Europe and North America for 15 years with innovative, dance-theatre companies, as well as acting in films, TV series and hundreds of commercials.
In 2004, she joined the Cirque du Soleil’s casting team and for 5 years travelled the globe auditioning exceptional artists for their shows, and scouting new trends in performance design. She was the artistic casting director for The Beatles’ LOVE show (2006), and from 2008-2012 she oversaw the artistic casting needs for all of the international touring shows.
In 2012, Gillian was promoted to Director of The Creative Lab of Cirque du Soleil Media. There she led a team in developing projects for the international film, TV and new media (VR/AR\MR) markets. Highlights include the video game Child of Light with Ubisoft, the preschool animated series Luna Petunia for Netflix in partnership with Saban Brands and the Emmy-award winning VR short Inside The Box: Kurios with Felix & Paul Studios for Samsung. Gillian is a certified coach of the Hendricks Institute, and a graduate of their 2-year Transformational Leadership program.
In 2017, Gillian founded the creative innovation agency, Kite Parade Co; bringing together her years of experience in innovation, creative direction and large-scale production, with her background in transformational leadership. Clients include Suzy Batiz, Tourisme Montreal, San Pellegrino, The Montreal Neurological institute, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, the design studio Daily Tous Les Jours as well as artists Sarah Selecky, Jeff McErlain, Emilie Baltz and Harris III.
